Lisa L. Dutton, PT, PhD, dean of health sciences for the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health and professor of physical therapy, joined St. Catherine University in 2008. During her tenure here, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, department chair, and associate dean.

Active professionally, Dutton has served as a board member for the Minnesota Physical Therapy Association and the Academy of Physical Therapy Education.

Prior to joining the faculty at St. Catherine University, Dutton served as the founding program director for the physical therapy programs at The University of Findlay and later as Dean of the College of Health Professions. Dutton’s areas of teaching content expertise include rehabilitation, neurologic physical therapy, and motor learning.

Dutton has practiced as a physical therapist in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. In keeping with these interests, she publishes and presents nationally on topics related to neurologic physical therapy and health professions education.

Dutton earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. She received her master’s in neurologic physical therapy from Rosalind Franklin University, and a PhD in higher education administration from Bowling Green State University.
